Kif Lim

I was born and raised in San Francisco, then moved across the bay to UC Berkeley to complete my undergraduate degree in molecular and cell biology. There, I worked in the Nogales lab, where I helped to resolve the structure of CAK (Cdk-activating kinase) using cryo-EM. Now, as an SRA in the Al-Sady Lab, I am collaborating with the Mullins Lab to study the biophysical mechanism of heterochromatin spreading using single-molecule, fluorescence microscopy. Besides shooting proteins with lasers, I enjoy reading, learning new languages and exploring the Pacific coast!
